Warehouse keeper
This role is responsible for receiving, storing, and delivering goods passing through the company, while maintaining accuracy and safety.
Job objective:
To efficiently manage the movement of goods within the warehouse, ensuring that every shipment entering and leaving is properly documented, intact, and on time.
- Qualifications: High school diploma (minimum), logistics diploma (preferred)
- Experience: 1-3 years in warehousing, preferably with land transport companies
- Skills:
- Proficiency in computer use, including warehouse software and Excel
- Knowledge of shipping and handling procedures
- High accuracy in counting and documentation
- Physical fitness for loading and unloading goods
- Forklift driving license (preferred)
1. Receiving and Storage
- Receiving shipments from drivers and verifying the invoice, quantity, and condition.
- Inspecting goods upon receipt and documenting any damage or shortages.
- Arranging goods within the warehouse according to type, destination, and date of entry.
- Placing clear identification tags on each shelf and area.
2. Issuing and Delivering
- Preparing shipping orders according to loading slips.
- Coordinating with the operations department to prioritize loading trucks.
- Ensuring goods are loaded securely to prevent damage during land transport.
- Delivering goods to drivers or customers and obtaining a signed receipt.
3. Inventory and Documentation
- Entering all transactions into the warehouse ERP system or ledgers.
- Conducting periodic monthly and surprise inventory counts and reconciling the physical balance with the system.
- Preparing daily reports: incoming, outgoing, balance, and overdue goods.
- Monitoring slow-moving goods and reporting them to management.
4. Safety and Hygiene
- Maintaining the cleanliness and order of the warehouse.
- Adhering to occupational safety procedures and using personal protective equipment.
- Ensuring the proper functioning of handling equipment: cranes, trolleys.
- Reporting any hazards or accidents immediately.
