The photographer is responsible for producing Silk's visual materials, including reels, promos, marketing and corporate content, and ensuring high-quality photography, while adhering to the visual identity, requirements of each platform and the approved delivery schedule.
• A minimum of a high school diploma is required. A certificate or training course in photography, filmmaking, media, visual production, or a related field is an asset.
• At least two years of practical experience in photography.
• Proficiency in using appropriate photography equipment for the required tasks.
• Experience in shooting reels, trailers, and marketing content.
• Proficiency in lighting design and application in both indoor and outdoor environments.
• A thorough understanding of framing, camera angles, camera movement, and visual composition.
• Ability to read and execute scripts and storyboards on location.
• Ability to handle diverse shooting conditions, including indoor and outdoor locations and varying lighting.
• Basic knowledge of sound recording is an asset.
• Basic knowledge of editing or color correction is an asset, even if not a primary responsibility.
• Ability to prepare and deliver raw materials in formats and quality suitable for editing and publication.
• Execute photography and videography work for Silk Company, tailored to the nature of the content, platform, and target audience.
• Shoot and produce materials for reels, promos, advertising campaigns, and marketing and corporate content.
• Read scripts, understand the visual sequence and the required message, and then translate them into actionable scenes on location.
• Participate in preparing for photo sessions by understanding the concept and identifying the needs of the location, equipment, angles, framing, and lighting.
• Select framing sizes, camera angles, and camera movements to suit the nature of the scene, the message, and the platform on which the content will be published.
• Apply the principles of visual composition, balance, depth, color, and eye movement to ensure the production of visually appealing and cohesive images and shots.
• Conduct photography at company locations, offices, facilities, projects, and work sites, adhering to safety instructions, site requirements, and equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with the media team leader, content team, designers, and editors to ensure the integration of visual materials with the scripts, designs, and content plan. • Deliver raw materials, footage, and initial selections on schedule and in the required formats.
• Conduct initial reviews and make necessary adjustments to footage or shooting style, as needed, in coordination with the media team leader.
• Organize and archive filming files, including raw materials, initial cuts, and final versions, according to a clear system that facilitates easy retrieval and future use.
• Maintain the confidentiality of materials, information, locations, and projects being filmed, and do not share any content without obtaining the necessary approvals.
