Internal Transport Specialist - Strategic Planning and Operations

The overall objective of this position is to lead and develop the company's internal transportation system in the short and long term by effectively linking the strategic vision with daily field operations. The position aims to ensure the efficient operation of the bus fleet, achieve financial sustainability, and deliver a superior transportation experience based on modern technology, thereby reinforcing Silk's position as a leader in integrated transportation solutions.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Transportation) or Business Administration.

An MBA or Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCP) is highly preferred.

Extensive technical knowledge of Fleet Management Systems (FMS) and GPS tracking technology.

Required Skills:

A minimum of 7 years of experience in the transportation sector, including at least 3 years in a supervisory/strategic role.

Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to design route networks based on feasibility and demand studies.

Strong leadership skills to manage field teams, drivers, and handle immediate crises.

Proficiency in analyzing operational data to translate figures into strategic decisions.

Experience in managing transformational projects (such as implementing electronic payment systems or fleet modernization).

Skills in negotiation and building partnerships with regulatory and governmental bodies.

Strategic Aspect:

Network Planning: Designing and developing the route network based on demand studies, population growth, and the company's expansion plans for the next 3-5 years.

Fleet Strategy: Developing a bus replacement and renewal plan, defining specifications for new buses, and evaluating alternative fuel options such as electricity and gas.

Digital Transformation: Leading projects to implement Fleet Management Systems (FMS), GPS tracking, electronic payment, and passenger applications.

Budgeting and Investment: Preparing the operational and capital budgets for transportation and analyzing the economic feasibility of new routes.

Partnerships and Policies: Representing the company before regulatory bodies, negotiating new routes, and establishing company-wide safety and quality policies.

Operational Aspect:

Daily Operations: Managing operating schedules, allocating buses to routes, and handling emergencies and breakdowns in real time.

Technical Supervision: Monitoring preventive and periodic maintenance, analyzing data on recurring breakdowns, and reducing downtime.

Performance Management: Monitoring KPIs such as punctuality, fuel consumption, breakdown rate, and passenger satisfaction.

Team Management: Leading the field supervisors and drivers, and evaluating performance. Training on safety and service standards

Reporting: Submitting weekly and monthly reports to management including operational performance, deviations, and improvement plans.
